Parati Competive Rowing Soars… check out the latest video at the Heart of Texas Regatta

Parati Competitive Rowing is a non-profit 501(c)(3) Club located in The Woodlands, Texas.
We are a co-ed youth sculling team that trains rigorously year round
and competes at local, regional, and national levels. Parati is 40 rowers
strong from grades 9-12.

Our comprehensive training program combines blade work, weights,
conditioning and discipline to produce exceptional results. Parati had 6 boats
qualify at the Central Youth Rowing Championships in OKC for the 2014 US Rowing
Youth Nationals being held in Sacramento, CA on June 10-12. Only 4 other
sculling teams nationwide had as many boats qualify for Nationals. This is
remarkable for a team in only its second year. Our Head Coach, Mike Rosman, was
a Big Ten wrestler and world stage competitor. He has successfully coached many
boats to Youth Nationals and was pleased to see Parati secure a 10th and 12th
place in the nation at the 2014 Youth Nationals in Sacramento, CA. His vision
is to develop each athlete to their full potential, in character as well as
rowing. He leads by example; his dedication and commitment to this team
are evident in the countless volunteer hours he devotes to its success.

Assistant Coach Paris Rosman rowed in high school and loves
teaching kids how to row. You will often find her herding Novice rowers both on
and off the water. Parati Competitive Rowing was established in 2012 to give
youth rowers the opportunity to pursue excellence in sport as well as personal
development, and is entirely coached and managed by volunteers. At its
inception Parati had no equipment, no boathouse, and no funds; what it had was
a dedicated volunteer coach and a group of high school kids determined to
achieve success.

Throughout its inaugural year, Parati used Coach Mike’s house as
its “boathouse.” All boats, oars, slings, and a safety launch were stored at
his home in East Shore. Rowers launched from Merhorse Park on Lake Woodlands
and lifted weights in the Rosman’s yard. Parati now rows from Northshore Park.
Many Parati graduates continue their rowing success in college. In Fall 2014
Parati graduates will be rowing at MIT, Villanova, Dartmouth, Williams College,
OKC University, University of San Diego, the Naval Academy, and Baylor
University, Parati is also committed to expanding the reach of this great
sport. To that end we conduct events that educate the public and promote rowing
opportunities to diverse populations, including indoor rowing competitions and
free erg clinics for adaptive athletes.

We are entirely a volunteer organization devoted to the success
of our youth members and invested in giving back to our community. Parati is
more than a team! We are a family who has a lot of fun together. Our rowers
gather regularly for social events such as BBQs, our Talent Show, movie nights
and pool parties. As Coach Mike says, “It’s easier to go that extra mile
in training when you are in the company of friends.”
